Our Community Health Collective: We started as a small group of sister-friends with a defined goal to advocate for BIPOC women and girls, their families, and friends in Prince George’s County. Collectively, our passion is to make an impact and leave a legacy of health and wellness in our community.
Over time, our passion and dedication grew into a recognized collective of women business owners, corporate executives, educators, community leaders, medical professionals, public servants, and government officials. We have gathered together as members of the community working together on a common cause.
Today, we are connected to a network of hundreds of volunteers and community partners who share our vision, values, and victories as we work to create better health outcomes, together!
Our work is guided by a set of core values, including compassion, integrity, trust, faith, and above authentic collaboration. We believe that by sharing and upholding these values, we can create meaningful and sustainable change in our community for this generation and those generations to come.
Our goal is simple - We want to create better health outcomes within our community and individuals as their first responder to health concerns.
We define “first responders” as intentional and educated health consumers who actively shift the health paradigm in their lives, families, and communities through awareness and by taking the necessary action to improve health outcomes.
Our Community Health Collective is a grass-roots initiative that takes a community-centered approach to ameliorating health inequities in Prince George's County, Maryland. The women of Our Community Health Collective have successfully engaged in meaningful health-related programming and have a combined 50+ years of helping to improve the lives of others at community, state, and national levels. We work through inclusive and sustainable service collaborations and advocacy-based partnerships with a single focus - supporting better health outcomes for the community.
We seek to support underserved populations and their families by working alongside community organizations, elevating diverse perspectives of and about healthcare in Prince George's County, and connecting health professionals and health consumers, together to improve health outcomes.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
